The Academy Award-nominated City of God director Fernando Meirelles is among the jury members of the Mobile Film Festival that has dedicated this year’s competition to climate change. In total, the festival received 765 film submissions from 70 countries all shot on mobile devices. 75 one-minute films from 27 countries are presented in competition and can be viewed at the Mobile Film Festival site.
The festival invites people from around the world to vote for their favored short fim that deals with climate change. Among the various competition contributions are different genres such as comedy, horror, drama as well as sci-fi. All 75 films will be screened at the Awards Ceremony which takes place in Paris at the Gaumont Champs Elysée on December 7 during the UN Climate Change Conference COP21.
