Fifty years later, Trekkies\u00a0across the world are celebrating the 50th anniversary\u00a0of the famous sci-fi adventure which was always ahead of it\u2019s time.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>In this cult TV series the Enterprise crew had to deal with subjects such as social class distinctions but also the exploitation of the environment. This is an issue that William Shatner who starred as the commander of the USS Enterprises, still concerns nowadays. \u201cThe truth of the matter is and the fact we can\u2019t hide from it is that we are looking at the end of life as we know it within a short period of time, some people say a hundred year, fifty years\u201d, says the actor. \u201c We know that the bad things on earth things are happening much more rapidly than we ever thought possible. We are warming up, the glaciers are melting at a more rapid pace. That is what is going to happen to human life on earth.
