The historical 3D drama is based on the personal history of Charlotte Knobloch, former president of the Central Council of Jews in Germany. Her biography inspired the director\/ producer Annekathrin Wetzel to tell a simple story about friendship. \u201eWe didn&#8217;t want to make a tough film about the Holocaust\u201c, states Michael Geidel who produced Call her Lotte with the German production company <a href=\"http:\/\/www.miriquidifilm.de\/home.html.\">Miriquidi Film<\/a>. Besides the 18 minute short film he is producing further formats such as a web doc and an edutainment game which is supported by the International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance (IHRA).<\/p>\n<p>The shooting of Call her Lotte took place at the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.bavaria-studios.de\/en\/\">Bavaria Studios<\/a>\u00a0 in Munich where the team found various locations such as an old street, a villa and an apartment. \u201eWe had a kick off meeting to communicate our sustainable approach\u201c, says Geidel. \u201eThe advantage to shoot at the Bavaria Studios is that we had several locations in one place so that we didn&#8217;t need to move our entire crew to several sets. Therefore we had a small car pool and could travel by train.\u201c<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/greenfilmshooting.net\/blog\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/3\/2014\/12\/lotte.jpg\">In addition, the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.bavaria-film.de\/index.php?id=4139&amp;L=dvrcqzbxclsbeu%3Fiframe%3Dtrue%23\">Film- und Theaterausstattung<\/a>(FTA) provided the production with historical costumes and props which are stocked at the film studio. \u201eWe didn&#8217;t produce garbage with our set design.\u201c This was also the case when it came to catering. \u201eWe used china and cutlery.\u201c Even for the make-up, the production used sustainable products from <a href=\"http:\/\/www.dr.hauschka.com\/de_DE\/\">Dr. Hauschka<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Michael Geidel received a positive feedback for the sustainable production approach.
