Sustainable initiatives, projects and actions have taken root throughout the world since the first green seeds were sown in the film industry. Filmmakers now understand that environmentally-friendly production is not rocket science.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>European productions such as <em>In My Room<\/em> by Ulrich K\u00f6hler, which will premiere at the Cannes Film Festival in the Un Certain Regard section, and the animated short film <em>Carlotta\u2019s Face<\/em>, which will be featured in the Next Generation Short Tiger program at the Croisette, followed Best Practices similar to those Steven Spielberg\u2019s Hollywood movie<a href=\"http:\/\/greenfilmshooting.net\/blog\/en\/2018\/03\/06\/sustainability-on-set-the-post\/\"><em> The Post<\/em> <\/a>did. The on-set sustainability program was designed by New York-based Eco-Supervisor Emellie O\u2019Brien, who has already turned <a href=\"http:\/\/greenfilmshooting.net\/blog\/en\/2015\/02\/09\/the-green-side-of-spider-man\/http:\/\/greenfilmshooting.net\/blog\/en\/2015\/02\/09\/the-green-side-of-spider-man\/\"><em>The Amazing Spider-Man 2<\/em> <\/a>into a green action hero.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>In Europe, film funds and film commissions often play a key role in green production by both inspiring filmmakers as well as by offering them incentives. At the panel discussion, the producers Claudia Steffen from Pandora Filmproduktion (<em>In My Room<\/em>), Fabien Driehorst from German animation studio <a href=\"http:\/\/greenfilmshooting.net\/blog\/en\/2015\/02\/04\/animation-takes-a-step-foward\/\">Fabian &amp; Fred<\/a> (<em>Carlotta&#8217;s Face<\/em>), the film fund managers Nevina Satta (<a href=\"http:\/\/greenfilmshooting.net\/blog\/en\/2018\/02\/22\/the-sustainability-strategy\/\">Sardegna Film Commisssion Foundation<\/a>), Joanna Gallardo (<a href=\"http:\/\/greenfilmshooting.net\/blog\/en\/2018\/04\/07\/the-eco-universe-is-expanding\/\">Ecoprod<\/a>), Pierrete Baillot (Screen Brussels Film Commission), Enrico De Lotto (<a href=\"http:\/\/greenfilmshooting.net\/blog\/en\/2015\/10\/19\/going-green-is-a-matter-of-survival\/\">Torino Piemonte Film Commission<\/a>) and Eco Supervisor Emellie O&#8217;Brien will discuss the green ways they want to take.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The event takes places at the Italian Pavilion, Hotel Le Majestic &#8211; Salon Marta, on Sunday, May 13 from 9.30 to 11.30 am.\u00a0 If you like to attend the event, please <a href=\"mailto:info@greenfilmshooting.net\">RSVP<\/a>.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"For the third time, Green Film Shooting and Cine-Regio are hosting a panel discussion on green film production at the Cannes Film Festival.
