Going green is becoming more common for filmmakers throughout the world \u2013 whether they need to save precious resources for low-budget productions or to reduce their carbon footprint when shooting motion pictures or series that require complex production methods.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The Berlinale Competition films <em>System Crashe<\/em>r by Nora Fingscheidt and <em>The Golden Glove<\/em> by Fatih Akin were both awarded a <a href=\"http:\/\/greenfilmshooting.net\/blog\/en\/2013\/02\/01\/a-necessity-not-a-nicety\/\">Green Shooting Card<\/a> by the Filmf\u00f6rderung Hamburg Schleswig-Holstein. Jonas Weydemann, Producer of<em> System Crasher<\/em> will speak about the sustainable actions that were taking during the shooting. New York-based Eco Supervisor Emellie O\u2019Brien greened the set of <em>The Marvelous Ms. Maisel,<\/em> while her French colleagues Mathieu Delahousse and Charles Gachet-Dieuzeide from Secoya Eco-Tournage reduced the environmental impact of the French comedy <em>Notre Dame<\/em> by Valerie Donzelli.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Nevina Satta, CEO, <a href=\"http:\/\/greenfilmshooting.net\/blog\/en\/2018\/02\/22\/the-sustainability-strategy\/\">Sardegna Film Commission<\/a>, hosted George Clooney&#8217;s latest production in her region. When he was filming the <em>Catch-22<\/em> series in Sardinia, his team followed Paramount\u2019s sustainability guidelines. New York-based Berlinale Talent Rocio Gimenez used about 4,000 square feet of cardboard to design an entire set with furniture, floors, and wallpaper. And last, but not least, the Berlinale rolled out a red carpet made entirely from recycled fish nets.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>From Spain to Finland, new initiatives and incentives are inspiring filmmakers to develop and produce their projects in a more environmentally-friendly manner as producers, sustainability experts, and film commissioners acknowledge. Joanna Gallardo, <a href=\"http:\/\/greenfilmshooting.net\/blog\/en\/2018\/04\/07\/the-eco-universe-is-expanding\/\">Ecoprod<\/a> Adviser, will speak about the green production incentives of the \u00cele-de-France Film Commission. In Spain, Concha D\u00edaz Ferrer, Film Commissioner at the Tenerife Film Commission has taken some steps to green film production while Kaisa Astikainen, Sustainability Coordinator from Finland, is preparing the first Finnish feature will that will be produced sustainably. German Green Shooting Consultant and Producer Fabian Linder is planning in co-production with partners from Finland the feature film <em>Franky Five Star <\/em>that will be produced sustainably.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The green panel discussion takes place at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hamburg.de\/landesvertretung\/\">Landesvertretung Hamburg<\/a> on February 9 from 2.30 to 4 pm.
