In addition to the international event <a href=\"http:\/\/greenfilmshooting.net\/blog\/de\/2020\/02\/06\/gruene-filmproduktion-2-0-berlinale\/\">Green Film Production 2.0 \u2013 Beyond reusable coffee cups<\/a> on Friday that will kick off the discussion on sustainable film production, there are informal industry meetings and panel discusssions almost every day. For the first time, the Motion Picture Association (MPA) puts sustainability on the agenda at it&#8217;s Berlinale reception at Potsdamer Platz .<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Sustainability in film production is also key topic at the Berlinale Open House event <a href=\"https:\/\/www.berlinale.de\/de\/programm\/programm\/detail.html?film_id=202012741\">The Show Must Go Green<\/a> at the Berlinale Audi Lounge on Saturday afternoon. The experts, who will be interviewed by moderator Nina Sonnenberg include the UN Climate Ambassador Lucas di Grassi, <a href=\"http:\/\/greenfilmshooting.net\/blog\/en\/about-us\/\">Green Film Shooting <\/a>Publisher Birgit Heidsiek as well as Producer Antra Cilinsnka, who produced <em>Jelgava&#8217;94<\/em>, which is the first green film in Latvia.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>On Sunday morning, sustainability is for the first time a subject at European Film Market. Featured under the title <a href=\"https:\/\/www.efm-berlinale.de\/en\/horizon\/programme\/sustainability\/content_initiative.html\">sustainABILITY: New Green Skills, Tools and Models for Industry-Wide Transformation<\/a> different approaches and concepts will be presented. This includes a talk with EFM Director Matthijs Wouter Knol with Jacob Bilabel, Founder of the Green Music Initiative.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>At the German as wel as at international level, experts will exchange information at various industry talks. More<a href=\"https:\/\/www.mfg.de\/veranstaltungen\/detailansicht\/810-die-beauftragte-fuer-kultur-und-medien-und-der-arbeitskreis-green-shooting-laden-ein\/\"> Climate and Environment Protection on Set<\/a>\u00a0 is an aim of the common sustainability initiative of the German film industry and the Minister of State for Culture and the Media, which plans to implement a nationwide green label as well as a self declaration of the industry for green shooting.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Sustainability has not been an issue for the European funding program Creative Europe MEDIA, which will change in view to the Green Deals of the EU. For the first time, the European Film Forum will be focus on sustainability in the film and media industry. At the\u00a0 <a href=\"http:\/\/www.creativeeuropeuk.eu\/news\/european-film-forum-and-creative-europe-call-events-berlinale\">Greener Pastures: Towards\u00a0 Sustainable Audiovisual Industry<\/a> event some best practice examples will be presented.
