Since more than a decade, the French association Ecoprod offers training, tools, and green production guides. \u201eThis year, we are launching a new five day-training with the three key topics: the impact of a production, the strategy to reduce the impact and carbon calculation\u201c, says Alissa Aubenque, Ecoprod\u2018s Director of Operation.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>In Italy, environment has been admitted to the constitution. \u201eWe are very proud of that\u201c, emphasizes Nevina Satta, CEO of the <a href=\"https:\/\/greenfilmshooting.net\/blog\/en\/2021\/07\/31\/sustainable-standards\/\">Sardegna Film Commission<\/a>, which provides training for green film productions which a focus on below-the line since 2014. \u201eNow, we are involving more the content producers and pushing them to cooperate with scientists.\u201c Italian producer Giovanni Pompeli, winner of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.berlinale.de\/de\/home.html\">Golden Bear at the 2022 Berlinale <\/a><span class=\"break-words\"><span dir=\"ltr\">with his production <em>Alcarr\u00e0s<\/em> by Carla Simon,<\/span><\/span> is launching in collaboration with the TorinoFilmLab a <a href=\"https:\/\/greenfilmshooting.net\/blog\/en\/2022\/01\/20\/torino-launches-green-lab\/\">Green Lab<\/a> training programme in various European regions. \u201eChanging the habits is the most difficult part\u201c, says the producer. \u201eThe most important is to have a hands-on approach how to think about a sustainability plan.\u201c<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>In Poland, production is becoming more sustainable thanks to the Film for Climate group, which developed green guidelines. \u201eWe are planning a series of training on green production\u201c, says\u00a0 Alejandra Leszczy\u0144ska, founder of Warsaw-based <a href=\"http:\/\/www.lapolacaproductions.com\/\">Lapolaca Productions<\/a> . In South Africa, the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.greenset.org\/\">Greenset<\/a> project gained momentum when the service company Film Africa adopted sustainability on all its productions in 2019. Founded as a start up non profit organisation, now Greenset is a subset of the South African Film Academy. \u201eWe focus on job creation and service training in the sustainability in film sector while working with producers to minimize the carbon footprint of productions filming in South Africa\u201c, says Greenset founder Cindy Mkwanazi.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" style=\"border: none; overflow: hidden;\" src=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/plugins\/video.php?height=314&amp;href=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.facebook.com%2Fecoprodfrance%2Fvideos%2F693141118346195%2F&amp;width=560&amp;t=0\" width=\"560\" height=\"429\" frameborder=\"0\" scrolling=\"no\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><span style=\"display: width: 0px; overflow: hidden; line-height: 0;\" data-mce-type=\"bookmark\" class=\"mce_SELRES_start\"><span style=\"display: width: 0px; overflow: hidden; line-height: 0;\" data-mce-type=\"bookmark\" class=\"mce_SELRES_start\"><span style=\"display: inline-block; width: 0px; overflow: hidden; line-height: 0;\" data-mce-type=\"bookmark\" class=\"mce_SELRES_start\">\ufeff<\/span>\ufeff<\/span>\ufeff<\/span><\/iframe>\n<p>Meanwhile Hungary serves as a big service hub for U.S. studios. \u201eMost of the time, they have us on board in the pre-production phase\u201c, says Julia Tordai, co-founder of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.greeneyesproduction.com\/\">Green Eyes Production<\/a>. \u201eIf the big studios are not willing to pay for the green premium, the supply chain won\u2018t change.\u201c French eco manager Anais Mounereau stresses that it is difficult to structure a global sustainability strategy on set. \u201eAt Secoya, we offer the productions a software tool that helps to estimate and reduce their carbon footprint.\u201c<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>In the South German city Freiburg, eco consultant Jakob Reinhart provided a recent production with electric cargo bikes. The cameraman even used the trailer for a dolly shot. \u201eYou need crew members who are willing to try something new\u201c, concludes Jakob Reinhart. \u201eThey need to have the energy and time to create an innovative solution. It won\u2018t save the world if we only calculate our footprint.
