The Eisvogel Prize is awarded by the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.bmuv.de\">Federal Ministry for the Environment<\/a> (BMUV) and the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gut-herbigshagen.de\/\">Heinz Sielmann Foundation <\/a>in cooperation with the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kulturstaatsministerin.de\/DE\/startseite\/startseite_node.html\">Federal Government\u2019s Commissioner for Culture and Media<\/a> (BKM). In the main category the Eisvogel film prize is worth 20,000 Euro dotiert. In total, five productions were selected for the main category while two student productions are competing for the newcomer Eisvogel.\u00a0 The spectrum of productions ranges from a music concert documentary to a German comedy series up to an international co-production. In the Irish documentay <em>The Song Cycle, the musician <\/em>Nick Kelly cycles with his guitar on his back from Dublin to the Glastonbury Festival. \u201e\u201c<em>The Song Cycle<\/em> began as an exploration of a more sustainable approach to live music&quot;, says Nick Kelly. &quot;We are very proud that this project has shown not only that musicians can tour without driving but also that films can be made in a significantly more climate-friendly manner too..\u201c Nick Kelly will perform during the Berlinale. <em>The Song Cycle <\/em>is presented by the world sales company at the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.efm-berlinale.de\/\">European Film Market.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/greenfilmshooting.net\/blog\/de\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2025\/02\/kevlar.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-9350 alignright\" src=\"http:\/\/greenfilmshooting.net\/blog\/de\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2025\/02\/kevlar-202x300.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"145\" height=\"216\" \/><\/a>When producing the Swedish feature film<em> Kevlar Soul <\/em>producer Ronny Fritsche pressed every button to carefully manage the resources. The <a href=\"https:\/\/zentropa.dk\/\">Zentropa<\/a> Sweden production developed environmental guidelines on efficient logistics, the use of second hand material, waste management, carpooling, and electric vehicles, which were part of the contract for crew members. &quot;By embracing new approaches, we showed that sustainability can inspire creativity and set a standard for responsible filmmaking&quot;, underlines Ronny Fritsche.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/greenfilmshooting.net\/blog\/de\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2025\/02\/mary-1.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft wp-image-9356\" src=\"http:\/\/greenfilmshooting.net\/blog\/de\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2025\/02\/mary-1-202x300.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"177\" height=\"263\" \/><\/a>By far the biggest production is the feature film<em> Mother Mary<\/em> by the award-winning American writer\/director David Lowery who shot with the Academy Award-winning actress Anne Hathaway<br \/>\nin Cologne and its environs for fifty days. Among the producers are the US independent company <a href=\"https:\/\/a24films.com\/\">A24<\/a> and the Cologne-based <a href=\"http:\/\/www.augenschein-filmproduktion.de\/de\/\">Augenschein Filmproduktion. <\/a>The preliminary planned master-location concept enabled the production to cut carbon emissions. &quot;\u201cA24 and augenschein Filmproduktion, in collaboration with Roman Russo and the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gruener-werkzeugkasten.de\/en\/green-toolkit\/\">Green Toolkit<\/a> team, have delivered a groundbreaking sustainable production that sets international standards&quot;, says Auri Jackson, Sustainability Manager at A24. &quot;<em>Mother Mary\u00a0<\/em> is the first international film production to have its CO\u2082 footprint calculated according to ISO 14067 and independently verified through a third-party audit \u2013 a significant step towards greater transparency and accountability in the industry&quot;.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/greenfilmshooting.net\/blog\/de\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2025\/02\/Freibad.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" wp-image-9352 alignright\" src=\"http:\/\/greenfilmshooting.net\/blog\/de\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2025\/02\/Freibad-300x216.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"292\" height=\"210\" \/><\/a>For the ZDF commissioned production\u00a0 <em> F\u00fcr immer Freibad, the <\/em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.good-friends.tv\/\">good friends Filmproduktion<\/a> arranged\u00a0 a transportation service so that cast and crew could bring their own bikes and ride from the hotel to the set. Ths team used reusable containers, which kept the home-cooked vegan food fresh for longer. &quot;Before I started to study, I worked on large film sets and experienced the massive waste of resources such as food on a daily basis. I couldn&#8217;t accept that and distributed the leftover food&quot;, producer Licia Flocke points out.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/greenfilmshooting.net\/blog\/de\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2025\/02\/pool.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft wp-image-9355\" src=\"http:\/\/greenfilmshooting.net\/blog\/de\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2025\/02\/pool-300x274.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"212\" height=\"194\" \/><\/a> Saving resourcens was a main topic at the student production<em> No More Pool Time<\/em>, which was realized at the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.filmakademie.de\/\">Baden-W\u00fcrttemberg Film Academy<\/a>.
