The second edition of the four-day event will take place at the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.filmmuseum-potsdam.de\/Filmmuseum-Potsdam_1.html\">Filmmuseum Potsdam<\/a> from May 22 to 25, 2025.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The program includes 26 national and international films. The film and science festival will open with the German premiere of <em>Dust to Dust<\/em>, a portrait of Japanese fashion designer Yuima Nakazato, who is a passionate advocate of ethical and ecological fashion production. The film takes a look at an industry whose glittering world of haute couture has a darker side. These include the high-performance plastic PTFE, which is used under the trade name &quot;Teflon&quot; to coat pans, among other things. However, the toxic chemicals are also used in food packaging, for impregnating clothing in fire-fighting foams or for paper finishing.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The power and political influence of lobbyists is also a topic in <em>The White House Effect<\/em> by Bonni Cohen, Pedro Kos and Jon Shenk, a documentary about the denial of climate change. Influential industry players began instrumentalizing scientists for their own purposes already decades ago.
