Cannes conference on climate change

At the Cannes Film Festival, the international organization Film4climate is hosting the panel conference Taking Action on Climate Change  that will with the question what the film industry can do to help influence the outcomes and contribute to climate action. This issue will be discussed in regards to the United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP) in Paris in November 2015.

 

Cinema often helps raise awareness on social issues, but film production traditionally consumes vast amounts of energy and resources. Moderatd by Ivan Trujillo, Director, Guadalajara International Film Festival, the speakers of the panel discussion will include Olivier-René Veillon, Director of Ile de France Film Commission, Siebe Dumon, Head of Training and Film Education at Flanders Audiovisual Fund, Michael Geidel from the Green Film Initiative, Lucia Grenna, Program Manager of Connect4Climate – WorldBank Group as well as Birgit Heidsiek, Publisher & Chief Editor of Green Film Shooting.

The panel will be held at the Next Pavilion in Cannes (at the Marché du Film) on Tuesday, May 19 at 4 pm.
