Ecoprod certifies COP 21

The French organization Ecoprod, a consortium of various broadcasters, film funding and environmental agencies, granted the label COP 21, Conference of the parties to the UNFCC Framework Convention on Climate Change that will take place in Paris from November 30 to December 11, 2015.

The label symbolizes government’s institutional support to Ecoprod. It is granted by a labelling committee chaired by Ségolène Royal, Minister for Ecology, Sustainable Development and Energy. In order to qualify for the label, a project has to relate directly to the fight against climate change. It needs to be original, have a rallying and mobilizing capacity as well as an international dimension. Furthermore, a project has to echo the Agenda of Solutions and, in particular, the emphasis on discourse generating momentum around climate issues.

Following this certification, Ecoprod signed the COP 21 Charter. The Ecoprod group will hold an international conference about green initiatives in the audiovisual sector on 25th November. The group will also present its approach and tools at the ARTCOP 21 on December 3 in Paris. ArtCOP21 will stage city-wide cultural events that address climate as a people challenge and work to create a cultural blueprint of positive and sustainable change.
