Quickfire presentations at IBC 2025

At IBC Convention Amsterdam, the global media, entertainment, and technology community presents the most recent products and services for the media landscape. At IBC 2025 from September 12 to 15, 2025, the trend topic is artificial intelligence. AI-driven tools and systems can speed up the workflow of live productions. Moreover, AI is a game changer for the cinema industry.

 

The European Digital Cinema Forum (EDFC) will offer a panoramic view of cinema’s future from AI and content protection to sustainability, operational efficiency, mastering, and new imaging technologies. EDFC President Cathy Huis in ‘t Veld-Esser and Guillaume Branders, Executive Director, EDCF, are welcoming various industry experts who will give an insight into different topics. David Hancock, Chief Analyst, Cinema and Movies, Omdia, will give an update on the cinema industry. Steve LLamb, VP, Technology Standards and Solutions, Cinema Worldwide, Deluxe, and Guillaume Branders are going to talk about how theatrical content can be protected from emerging security risks.

 

Araceli Vaello, VP, CinemaNext Solutions, will hold a quickfire presentation on energy efficiency and monitoring. Stuart Bowling, Director Content Enablement, Barco Cinema, takes a closer look at the HDR content creation workflow. Filmmakers and producers as well as distributors and exhibitors are concerned how AI is transforming the complete cinema chain from production to exhibition. This will be the topic of a discussion with Patrick von Sychowski, Digital Marketing & Communications Manager, CinemaNext, David Hancock, and Steve Llamb.

 

Specific input on the requirements and functionalities of technologies will be given by the following quickfire presentation. Cedric Lejeune, VP of Technology, Unified Pixels, puts a focus on mastering and image quality. Chris Connett, Sr. Business Development Manager, EMEA, Christie Digital, gives an insight into the variable dynamic range. Birgit Heidsiek, CEO and Sustainabilty Consultant, Green Film Shooting,will take the energy consumption into account that is related to the application of different technologies. Radoslav Markov, CTO, Bulgarian Academy of Science, will explain the quantum technology & cinema workflow.

 

The EDCF Global Cinema Seminar takes place at the RAI Convention Center, in Amsterdam at room E105 (Forum Centre, first floor) on September 14, 2025 from 2 to 5 pm.
