K-Cups as killer machines

The well-designed coffe makers that deliver the espresso or latte macchiatto by just pressing a button without spilling any coffee crumbs, have a dark side. They are monsters who are producing tons of garbage. This perception gained Canadian video producer Mike Hachey when he became aware how much plastic waste the 22 employes in his studio are producing every day just by drinking coffee. Meanwhile, every eighth household in the U.S. is using such a coffee maker for which are about ten million K-Cups are produced within only a year.

In order to raise an awareness for this issue, the Canadian and his team produced a video in which monsters are shooting with K-Cups at humans. The message is heard. Starting in 2020, the producer Keurig will produce K-Cups which are completely recyclable.
