Berlinale Talents Footprint

‘Collectives’ is this year’s focus of nearly 100 talks, workshops and networking events at Berlinale Talents 2020 which will take place at the 70th Berlin International Film Festival from February 22 to 27. „By exploring the ‘collective’, Berlinale Talents responds to a clear desire within the film scene to find new forms of collaboration beyond established hierarchies", says Mariette Rissenbeek, Executive Director of the Berlin International Film Festival. "It will be exciting to experience how such a different understanding can harness creative potential,”

„Collective Gatherings“, „Kitchen Table Talks“ as well as other interactive workshop and discussion formats will provide fertile ground for new commons. Thanks to a new partnership with Mastercard, Berlinale Talents will expand its network for sustainable talent development. The jointly created Talents Footprints – Mastercard Enablement Programme specifically supports Talents and alumni to implement their film-related social initiatives. The programme encourages filmmakers to leave their footprint with their works on screen as well as with ideas how to create a fairer world in which to live an to work.

Talents Footprints is addressing young creatives with initiatives in one of the four core areas Environmental Awareness and Climate Action”, "Quality Education and Work”, “Peace, Justice and Understanding”, and “Gender Equality and Diversity”. This can be innovations for a more eco-friendly film production, a network, workshop or a festival.  The application is open for the participants of Berlinale Talents 2019 and 2020. Mastercard is going to support three filmmakers and their social projects with financing as well as mentoring and coaching tailored to their needs.
