Built To Last

While designing its innovative lighting technology, the Spanish company Velvet looks closely at energy and resource efficiency. The EVO1 and EVO2 panels, which are available as studio lights as well as the IP54 version, offer maximum light output with low-energy consumption.

“Thanks to their unbeatable lux per watt ratio, the EVO1 and EVO2 are the most efficient panels in their category”, emphasizes Jaime Razkin, Brand Manager-Europe. With 100 W power input, EVO1 delivers 775 lux/3m. EVO2 needs 225 W and provides double illuminance with 1550 lux/3m.

Velvet produces the panels in its company owned factory in Barcelona, which is powered by renewables. The casing of the lights consists of one-hundred percent recycled aluminum.
Sustainability is also applied to the supply chain. All parts are manufactured in Europe,
but most of the components are manufactured in Spain. “Eighty percent of the vendor parts are purchased from regional sources”, says Jaime Razkin. “We get our lenses from Germany and Italy.” Special handles and knobs also come from Italy, while the connectors come from Great Britain.

All Velvet products are designed to satisfy eco-design requirements. The lights can be repaired easily, updated with new software, and they are recyclable. Thanks to their robust construction, the EVO1 and EVO2 are maintenance- free and durable. The panels’ cooling apparatus doesn’t use a fan, so they guarantee reliable, noiseless operation.

In Germany, these lights are available exclusively from Lightequip.
